Cross-chain
Cross-chain is a property of a blockchain-based system that refers to a protocol or application deployed to multiple blockchains but where the deployments can communicate and interact with each other. A cross-chain deployment differs from one that is multichain in that the former results in a single unified deployment., while the latter results in multiple disconnected or fragmented deployments. Although cross-chain deployments can provide efficiency and user experience advantages over multichain alternatives, they typically bear more significant technological risks because of their greater complexity and dependencies.
