Blockchain-like System

Blockchain-like systems are distributed systems, with or without cryptoeconomic layers, that may offer some of the same properties as blockchain-based ones. Such alternatives include systems that leverage technologies and architectures such as Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAGs), Mesh Networks, Weave Networks (e.g., Arweave), Hashgraphs (e.g., Hedera), Distributed Hash Tables, other Distributed Ledger technologies and more. Some areas for differentiation and comparison between blockchain and blockchain-like systems may include consensus, data structures, and transaction validation.
