Mainnet

A mainnet refers to a blockchain version that is considered fully functional, executing transactions in a live environment and where the cryptoassets on the network confer real financial value. Although somewhat rare, a mainnet may have several stages, with earlier stages being limited in some ways. Mainnets are typically preceded by testnets.
