Light Node

A light node is a node that only downloads block headers as opposed to a complete copy of a blockchain and thus does not participate in consensus. As a result, light nodes have lower hardware and bandwidth requirements than full nodes, which they may rely on for relevant data. Light nodes, however, can typically send transactions.
