Fair Launch
Fair launches colloquially refer to initial token distribution (or 'genesis' distribution) events wherein project 'insiders' cannot acquire greater numbers or more favorably priced cryptoassets than project 'outsiders'.
While not explicitly defined nor explicitly achievable (since there will always be information asymmetry between earlier and later investors in a free market), commonly cited characteristics representing commonly understood ideals of fair launches include a launch offering no development or team incentives, no private crowdfunding rounds, no discounts, nor any otherwise complimentary access or pricing towards any specific group. Fair launches have also been described as launches offering a long duration of cryptoasset issuance and price equality.
