December 20, 2019 US Congressman introduces Crypto-Currency Act of 2020 in the House of Representatives.

U.S. Congressman Paul Gosar, Republican of Arizona’s 4th district, introduced the bill, which intends to bring regulatory clarity to the cryptocurrency sector. It classifies crypto assets as either “crypto-commodities,” “crypto-currencies” or “crypto-securities,” to be overseen by the CFTC, the SEC, and FinCEN, respectively. The move comes the same day as a bipartisan group of eight U.S. lawmakers wrote a letter to the IRS requesting that the agency clarify its policy on tokens received from airdrops and forks.
