June 17, 2020 Thailand finance ministry announces plans to sell $6.42 million worth of bonds via blockchain.

An office within Thailand’s finance ministry, the Public Debt Management Office (PDMO) announced via a statement on Tuesday that it intends to sell 200 million baht ($6.42 million) worth of savings bonds through a blockchain-based wallet operated by Krung Thai Bank. Among its intentions, the PDMO stated that the use of blockchain should increase efficiency within government while also helping to advance the digital economy.
