September 25, 2019 Tencent, Fidelity, and Rakuten invest in Everledger, an asset ownership chain, which raised $20 million in series A funding.

The Everledger blockchain is intended to increase transparency in supply chains. Everledger’s blockchain ledger enables clients to view, store, search for, and make available to customers and end consumers information about diamonds, art, wine and like assets. The platform is used by retailers such as Fred Meyer Jewelers, Chow Tai Fook Jewelry, and the Gemological Institute of America. In interview, CEO Leanne Kemp noted that Everledger and Tencent intend to collaborate on a WeChat initiative that would enable WeChat users to buy jewelry more securely.
