May 6, 2020 Netherlands’ central bank issues registration notice to cryptoasset companies.

De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB), the Netherlands’ central bank stated on Monday that cryptoasset companies who convert cryptoasset to fiat currency or offer custody services in the country must register with DNB by May 18, otherwise they will have to close down. The statement has been issued to reinforce modified anti-money laundering (AML) laws that were passed in April by the nation’s parliament as part of an attempt to bring Dutch AML laws in compliance with the European Union’s (EU) new AML directives which themselves have been determined by the intergovernmental Financial Action Task Force.
