December 30, 2019 IOTA fixes a bug that downed its mainnet for 15 hours.

A software bug that created a ‘corrupt ledger state’ and prevented transactions from confirming on the IOTA network has been fixed by developers after fifteen hours of downtime. IOTA’s co-chairman, Dominik Schiener, claims the issue originated from the “current primary mainnet node software’, and not the IOTA Foundation operated Coordinator node. Both node types are in the process of being replaced by new lightweight ‘Hornet’ nodes as part of a scheduled ‘Coordicide’ event.
