September 4, 2019 Gemini and Ripple increase compliance and legal efforts amidst regulatory uncertainty.

Gemini has hired Noah Perlman, former Global Head of Financial Crimes at Morgan Stanley and Division Counsel for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, as its new Chief Compliance Officer. Following the move, Gemini CEO Tyler Winklevoss, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to “asking for permission, not forgiveness” from regulators. Further, Ripple has hired former congressional aid for Rep. Warren Davidson (R-Ohio), Ron Hammond, as its new Manager of Government Relations. Hammond previously led the drafting of the Token Taxonomy Act in 2018.
