Ethereum core developers delayed the smart contract network’s Berlin hard fork on Friday due to concerns that the network is overreliant on the Geth client. Despite being just one of eleven Ethereum clients, Geth accounts for 79% of nodes, leading to concern among the core developers that a bug in the client could freeze the whole network, given Geth’s network dominance.
