February 19, 2020 Enigma launches mainnet and settles with the SEC over ICO offering.

Enigma, a privacy-focused smart contract platform, announced Wednesday that it had launched its mainnet and reached a settlement with the SEC over ENG token issuance. While neither “…admitting or denying its findings”, Enigma will accept a $500,000 penalty, agree to claims process for participating ICO investors, register its tokens as securities, and will periodically report to the SEC. In a separate announcement, the SEC’s John T. Dugan stated: “All investors are entitled to receive certain information from issuers in connection with a securities offering, whether it involves more traditional assets or novel ones. The remedies in today‚Äôs order provide ICO investors with an opportunity to obtain compensation and provide investors with the information to which they are entitled as they make investment decisions.”
