April 20, 2020 dForce suffers a $25 million loss.

The decentralized finance platform, dForce suffered a $25 million loss on Sunday due to an attack on its lending protocol, lendf.me. Attackers were able to drain a combination of BTC and ETH, leaving almost zero assets locked in the protocol. According to its blog post, the dForce team is engaging with the attackers while the team also stated that they have contacted multiple law enforcement agencies and are working with asset issuers and exchanges to identify and blacklist the stolen assets. Some commentators have speculated that the attack might have occurred due to the protocol’s integration with imBTC, an ERC777-based token that is pegged 1:1 with the price of Bitcoin.
