August 7, 2019 Binance announces it is investigating a possible leak of customer information related to KYC procedures, potentially affecting up to 60,000 users from 2018 to 2019.

The stolen data, which was posted in a Telegram group on Wednesday, includes photos of customers’ ID’s and other KYC information. The data breach is allegedly related to a hack of Binance in May 2019, in which 7000 BTC were stolen. It is unclear at this time whether the information was taken directly from Binance or from a third-party source.
